Winter weather for this dark week of November

Rain, wind, snow and, in general, cold, are here to stay. New low-pressure areas will arrive this week in the Iberian Peninsula, especially affecting the north of the country, but it will be cold in all provinces.


After a very winter weekend, the weather instability extends throughout the peninsula. Temperatures have dropped drastically and low-pressure areas bring us rain, more strong gusts of wind and more snow. From Tuesday the rainfall will be especially intense in Galicia, Asturias and Castilla y León, as well as in Madrid, Extremadura, La Rioja and Aragón. Even in some areas of the Canary Islands some weak rains could be registered.


On the other hand, the snow in the Pyrenees will reach a height of 1,400 meters, while in the Cantabrian Mountains it will rise to 2,000 meters. In addition, winds will be very strong in the area of ​​the mouth of the Ebro river, the Balearic Islands and the Ampurdán, reaching gusts of wind between 70 and 80 kilometres per hour. In addition, as of Tuesday it will rain heavily in the Balearic Islands. Also, waves five meters high are expected in the Mediterranean area and the Costa Blanca, while in the Cantabrian Sea there will be waves six meters high.

In addition to adverse weather conditions, on Thursday the maximum and minimum temperatures will be even lower due to the entry of more cold air. A new front will also arrive, which will leave rains throughout the peninsula and in the Balearic Islands, and even storms in Galicia and the Cantabrian area.
