It is said that Spaniards have passion in their blood and many of them show it by dancing flamenco. The energy that transmits this art is overwhelming. Viva España restaurant offers you to feel that cultural experience while you taste its exquisite Mediterranean dishes surrounded by Spanish feeling.
It was the year 1968 when a Valencian couple travelled to Johannesburg, in South Africa. There Jose Miralles worked as an artist singing in the best venues in the city, while his wife María Julia learned various techniques of international cuisine in different restaurants. Shortly after, in 1972, Jose and María Julia inaugurated the first Viva España restaurant in South Africa. Their unprecedented success resulted in the opening of more restaurants across the country. However, the nostalgia for their land led them to return with their two daughters to Spain, where they inaugurated the well-known Viva España restaurant in Oliva in 1987.
The Viva España restaurant’s menu focuses on a delicious selection of Valencian and Mediterranean dishes. María Julia leads a team of professionals who are based on the traditional recipes of her dear mother. Among their star dishes include rice, meat and grilled fish, rice with lobster and homemade desserts. And of course the essential and delicious Valencian paellas cooked in a wood fire!
