Azul Mediterráneo, a wine inspired by the sea

The blue colour inspires calmness. It is a colour that invites us to relax and rest while a gentle wind caresses us. It is the colour of the sky and distant galaxies and it is also the colour chosen to make the Azul Mediterráneo wine, a wonderful tribute to the Mediterranean Sea.

Creating things is simple, but when a product is created with effort and love it shows in the result. This is the case of the Azul Mediterráneo wine, a broth made in 2016 by the Casa Vital restaurant of Altea. The creators of this product have poured all their passion for the Mediterranean Sea, creating an exquisite and original blend of Chardonnay, Muscat and Verdejo grapes. The result is a different and exclusive product, a delicious blue wine, obtained thanks to a natural pigment extracted from the skin of blue grapes called anthocyanin. In this way they get a broth of a bright and vibrant blue colour that is perfect to accompany the succulent dishes of the Casa Vital restaurant. Also, anthocyanin is rich on antioxidants, so this natural pigment is good for health.

The Azul Mediterráneo Classic wine was so successful that in 2017 three other variations were launched: Dry, Frizzante and Brut Nature. The exquisiteness of these wines is worthy of prizes. In the 2018 edition of the ConVino event the Azul Mediterráneo won three medals after competing with another 115 wine-based products. While the Classic wine won a gold medal, the Dry and Frizzante variations won silver medals. But the Casa Vital restaurant already has experience in its award-winning wines, since its first Rioja wine won a gold medal by the International Wine Guide 2015.

If you want to try any of the varieties of Azul Mediterráneo wine, you will find it in selected stores and some restaurants on the Costa Blanca, but we recommend you go to the Casa Vital restaurant to taste it accompanied by the amazing dishes of its menu. Also, its success has crossed borders, since you can also find it in Norway, Germany, Sweden, Bulgaria and Greece. Are you going to stay without trying this blue delight?
