A year of delicious experiences at La Casa della Pasta

There are many Italian restaurants in Jávea, but few as original as La Casa della Pasta. His spectacular proposal of gastronomic trips through all the Italian regions has been a great success in this 2018. Thus, they culminate a whole year of triumphs, satisfied clients and delicious dishes.


Fabio and Kirsten met working at the Al Giardino restaurant, which is now the renowned BonAmb. Kirsten was just landed in Spain. She had arrived from Holland with the aim of learning Spanish, which she achieved with great mastery. For this she began very humbly: washing dishes. It was then that she met Fabio, who had finished his studies as a chef in Bellagio and was beginning a promising year of internship. What they could not imagine at that moment is that neither of them would return to their country of origin.


These two brave entrepreneurs decided to stay on the Costa Blanca. Three years later they launched their own restaurant. They started in March in 1999 in a small establishment in the port of Jávea. They assure that the origins of La Casa della Pasta were not simple. Its main objective was to ‘teach’ the customer to eat ‘authentic’ Italian food. The real one, the one the grandmothers cook there. In the menu there were starters, pasta dishes and, exclusively, Italian wines. Many people told them that the restaurant would not work if they did not include pizzas and Spanish wines. But Kirsten and Fabio had very clear ideas. They remained faithful to their philosophy and their restaurant reaped success after success.


In 2003 they moved to their current location. Cooks, waiters, cleaners… all of them formed a great and welcoming family. Many of them have worked in the restaurant since then, and all together strive every day to offer quality and family service in a pleasant atmosphere.



The menu of succulent dishes has not changed much since the beginning in the port. However, they have been adding, changing and especially improving the dishes. Its hallmark is and it always has been their pasta. Especially the fresh stuffed pasta. Pasta of different shapes, colors, flavors with homemade fillings. One of the favorites is the ravioli di zucca e scamorza, stuffed with roasted pumpkin with spices mixed with smoked cheese and prepared with butter, garlic sage and Parmesan cheese. Another very popular pasta are the ravioli di pesce, pasta dyed with cuttlefish ink stuffed with cuttlefish, prawns and monkfish prepared with oil, chilli pepper, garlic and parsley.


At the beginning of 2018 they successfully introduced the Giro d’Italia, a gastronomic journey through Italy. Through this experience, the client has been able to enjoy some typical dishes from a region of Italy every two weeks. Of the 14 regions that they have passed, the gnudi of Tuscany stand out. Gnudi would come to mean ‘naked’. They are small balls that are prepared with the filling of the ravioli. At La Casa dellaPasta they are prepared with ricotta cheese and spinach in a sauce of butter, sage and Parmesan cheese. Of the desserts that they bake for the Giro, always homemade, they highlight is the limoni dolci of Sicily, lemon-shaped cake bathed in limoncello and filled with lemon cream. Although it is difficult to choose a favorite among the main dishes of the Giro, orecchiette ai broccoli has been one of the most applauded. The ‘ears’ typical of Puglia prepared with broccoli, raisins, cherry tomatoes and pine nuts has been one of the dishes that have liked the most diners.



Their esteemed clients, of many nationalities and different ages, visit them every week or every time they come on vacation. And a very nice detail: the children who came with their parents in the first place continue to visit them, now with their own family. Thanks to all of them they continue, after 20 years, doing their work with pleasure and try every day to offer good food, a family service and their welcoming atmosphere.
