Flamenco is a beautiful Spanish tradition and artistic expression or, to be more precise, from the south of Spain. It exists in three forms: singing, dancing and toque, the technique of flamenco guitarists. More interestingly, the act of flamenco itself was declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2010.
Flamenco is one of the most characteristic elements of Spanish culture, especially throughout the southern region of Andalusia. This unique musical genre embodies a strong character that differentiates it from the rest of the music that populates the musical world.
Zahara Sunset Lounge puts on a fantastic flamenco performance every week on Thursdays from 8.30 pm.
In addition, the lounge celebrates other live music acts on Fridays, live DJ sets on Saturdays, and Reggae music on Sundays. Plus, there are live bands performing every Monday.
Flamenco originated in Andalusia around the 18th century, as we know it today, although there is much controversy about its origin. What is accepted by those in the know is that, in its purest form, its origin is concentrated in Lower Andalusia, between the provinces of Cadiz and Seville.
The first artists of the 18th century emerged in Triana, which together with Jerez and Cadiz is the enclave where flamenco ceased to be a folkloric expression and became an artistic genre.

Zahara Sunset Lounge is now open for lively events from 4 pm to 12 pm, with some events going on for longer depending on the event.
Thursday: Come and enjoy a refreshing cocktail over the electronic beats of a weekly DJ session.
Friday: Fancy a night out with just the girls? Friday is ladies night, featuring DJ sets of special dance music. The lounge is offering a free glass of Cava to women upon entry from 4 pm to 12 pm.
Saturday: Come to enjoy an exhilarating cultural experience of Flamenco with the Ramblas.
Flamenco is the result of the fusion of vocal music, the art of dance and musical accompaniment, respectively called cante, baile and toque. The flamenco dress is the most characteristic and eye-catching element of flamenco.
Sunday: Bask in the ambience set by live music duo La Mocha, performing Spanish pop-rock tunes.
Monday: The fantastic Inti Cardosa group will be coming to perform Cuban-Spanish as well as international pop music, giving a three-hour set.
Zahara Sunset lounge will also be offering a “happy hour” from 6 pm to 8 pm, where all cocktails will be at 50% off Thursdays to Sundays.

Zahara Sunset Lounge is also accepting groups of six of more for Christmas parties, where you and your table will receive a complimentary bottle of cava. For groups of 12 or more, two bottles will be provided.
