The Mediterranean coast, the area in which the developer Taylor Wimpey España operates, is the fastest-growing area in terms of transactions by international clients.
The purchase of residential property on the Mediterranean coast is experiencing a sweet moment in the Spanish property market. Even more so if we are talking about international clients. During the first half of the year, property sales by foreigners increased by 52.7%, according to the General Council of Notaries. The increase was led by the Canary Islands, the Valencian Community (78%) and Andalusia (62.3%), the latter two areas of activity of the developer Taylor Wimpey España. Just behind is the Balearic Islands (50.4%), the last of the communities with an increase of over 50%.
Purchases and sales by non-resident foreigners are the ones with the highest increase, rising by 106.1%. The figure may continue to rise in the coming months due to the arrival of the so-called “energy tourists”. With the price of electricity and gas skyrocketing in most European countries, Mediterranean areas have become an attraction for these tourists. The vast majority of them are European teleworkers and retirees who see the Spanish coast as an ideal place to combat the cold, snow and high bills in their countries.
The Costa Blanca is one of those areas where the international client finds all the characteristics he is looking for: good climate, leisure and gastronomy, good connections and infrastructures and beach. Precisely, Taylor Wimpey España promotes in Jávea the last properties of the Essential residential complex, very close to the beach and the marina. The 2 and 3 bedroom flats with large terraces are integrated in a residential complex with swimming pools and gardens, creating a beautiful environment where you can enjoy comfort and relaxation. All this from 254.000€ + VAT.
But not only because of the pleasant temperatures, “foreign tourists are choosing Spain because of the energy savings it can bring them,” says Marc Pritchard, Marketing and Sales Director of Taylor Wimpey Spain. A saving that can be even greater with “sustainable homes like the ones we promote, as they have all the equipment to achieve energy efficiency in the home”, adds Pritchard.
In terms of nationalities, according to the General Council of Notaries, the group of foreigners who bought the most homes was British, with 10.7% of total operations, followed by Germans (10.2%) and French (7.7%). Those registering the greatest increase were the Dutch (121.5%), Norwegians (119.5%) and Irish (106.7%).
In the Balearic Islands, one out of every two homes is bought by a foreign citizen. But a change of trend is being noticed in the buyer. Before it used to be German citizens and now it is spreading to other European nationalities and even citizens from outside Europe.
In this area, on the seafront, Taylor Wimpey España is promoting the latest property, ready to move into, at Sunset Ibiza. An exclusive residential complex in the privileged enclave of Cala Gració where you can enjoy enviable sunsets. The residential complex has a swimming pool surrounded by communal gardens, as well as other amenities such as underground parking and direct access to the sea.
