Its 137 rooms are spacious, with beautiful marble bathrooms, à minibar, and 24-hour room service. But Wi-Fi comes with a fee, and many rooms lack coffee makers. The hotel is a good value for holidaying families and couples, as its rates are lower than many area hotels in its category, but the fees can add up.

Hotel Gran Melia Don Pepe – A Luxury Resort Fit for Kids

The 193-room Gran Melia Don Pepe is a luxury beachfront resort that’s a six-minute drive from Marbella’s old town. There’s plenty of like here – mostly chic style – and the resort has a lovely beach with a beach club café, indoor and outdoor pools, à children’s pool, and a kids’ club.

Rooms have sleek contemporary decor, marble bathrooms, and modern conveniences such as minibars, 37-inch flat-screen TVs, and Wi-Fi – but some may be a little small for a hotel of this calibre. The spa offers an attractive range of treatments, and there’s a brilliant fitness centre with modern equipment and tennis courts. Several restaurants and bars offer plenty of dining options.
