Just a few weeks ago it seemed that we were living an eternal summer on the Costa Blanca. During this long week of All Saints’ Eve –or Halloween– some have even taken a bath in the Mediterranean Sea! However, we are now preparing to enter fully in winter. We tell you all the details of the weather in our weekly forecast!
If you have not yet taken out the blankets and warm clothes from the closet, this is a great time. This week we expect winter weather more than autumn weather. Strong gusts of wind are sweeping everything away in the Iberian Peninsula, which are making the wind child factor cooler. This adds to a low-pressure area that has entered from the northern zone, sending us very cold air masses and fronts with rainfall.
In addition, by Wednesday a new low-pressure area will enter from Galicia. This will bring new rains in large part of the country, and will be especially intense in the northern peninsular area. Also, in some locations above 800 meters we will also see snow.
As for the temperatures, Monday will still be pleasant, but they will suffer a drastic drop from Tuesday. However, powerful wind gusts will bring a stronger feeling of cold. On the other hand, at the end of the week a very active low-pressure area could affect the area of the Mediterranean Sea and the Costa Blanca, which could generate very intense rainfall.
Watch out for the wind
The strong gusts of wind that we are suffering right now throughout Spain –it seems that a tornado will take us to the land of Oz!– are being especially intense in the north, in interior mountain areas and in the Mediterranean area. Powerful winds will accompany us throughout the week, which will also affect the waves. In the Cantabrian Sea the waves will reach even between 4 and 6 meters high. Certainly, it seems that we have left behind this autumn beginning with temperatures above normal. As the Stark says, winter is coming!
