Today we start a new series on some of the most appreciated and sought after residential areas of the town of Jávea, as selected and explained in full details by COSTA HOUSES · Real Estate who had this initiative of sharing valuable insights on what makes each urbanisation special. And here is everything you need to know about El Tosalet.
One of the most popular residential areas in the area with a great variety of nationalities, El Tosalet is an urbanisation of Jávea built in 1966, at the initiative of the owner of the land, Mrs. Julia Jiménez Muro. It was a grand agricultural farm with vineyards, carob trees, orange trees and pines.
The inauguration of the development had a great social impact throughout Spain. El Tosalet de Jávea was at the time one of the most prestigious newly built residential areas and quickly became on of the most sought after places for its unique gardens and landscape, in addition to the proximity to the Arenal beach.
This residential area is designed as a tribute to the traditional architecture and the landscape of Jávea. All the houses built in El Tosalet are in the Mediterranean style and characterized by their extensive nayas or covered terraces, historical heritage of what were formerly the riuraus, or the wood and brick structures used on the farms as grape driers. As materials we highlight their arches built with tosca stone – the natural stone from Jávea, the exposed wooden beams of the ceilings and the terracotta floors.

An Urbanisation with Mediterranean Flair
“The grown and mature landscape makes El Tosalet very green, says Jennifer Wertsch from the team of COSTA HOUSES · Real Estate. Also, they have always tried to preserve the original style of the houses. It is already a long existing urbanisation so there are very few empty plots left, and here you can enjoy a very special Mediterranean flair, like you can find for example in this property:
Most Plots Have Seaview
“And because the plan of urbanisation was carefully designed and strictly respected here, Jennifer continues, almost all the plots in El Tosalet offer beautiful sea views like for example this one:
El Tosalet is One of the Safest Places
“Even though Jávea is very safe in general, the fact that El Tosalet has a service of 24 hours a day surveillance is highly appreciated and brings the comfort of the mind that’s essential especially for those who recently moved from other countries and know little about the area and the neighbourhood.”
