Boho Club, the luxury resort in Marbella that you’ll want to stay at for the personalised attention of a boutique hotel and its fabulous cuisine by Chef Diego del Río.
Travelling to Marbella in the province of Malaga is always a luxury. And even more so if the pretty girl of the Costa del Sol welcomes you with spring-like temperatures in the middle of winter. Today, we are heading to one of the most special hotels on Marbella’s Golden Mile, Boho Club, with boutique accommodation with a very interesting gastronomic offer to keep a close eye on.
What is a boutique hotel? These are usually small hotels, with few rooms, with their own personality and identity, and in many cases located in old buildings, such as castles, mansions, or historic centres.
Unlike the large hotel chains, they offer personalised services and attention, great privacy and are equipped with extraordinary facilities. They are usually set in a specific style or theme.
With just 30 rooms, the Boho Club is an idyllic setting a few steps from the sea, embodying simplicity, relaxed luxury, and comfort. Isn’t this what we all dream of for a holiday? This is how Boho Club presents itself, as a charming resort where everything makes sense. A hotel you’ll go to for its cuisine and come back to for its design. The resort has one, two, and three-bedroom private bungalows for its guests to enjoy the ultimate peaceful break.
The space that Boho Club occupies today was once a retreat. During the sixties, it used to be a Swedish Forest Centre, which was a place for the Swedish civil servants to rest, where they could forget about their work in Sweden and recharge their batteries, with a layout very similar to the current one.
Once an orchard, the complex now boasts a beautifully curated garden for guests to meander through. This boutique hotel resort has been arranged in such a way that each building has a meaning and sense of style, ultimately making it into a kind of small, enchanting Andalusian village in itself.
Time passed and the retreat fell almost into oblivion until a few years ago when the entire complex was acquired by a Swedish company, which decided to give this enchantingly idyllic space a new life in the form of a luxury boutique hote – The Boho Club, designed by architect, Ismael Mérida.
The luxury resort Boho Club situated between Marbella and Puerto Banús features a Michelin star restaurant that bears the same name.
At the head of the culinary team is a great chef with a long career, Diego del Río. The Malaga-born chef is the head of the gastronomic venture, honing in on Andalusian cuisine with international influences. His academic training has enabled him to try everything and he always gets it right. There is a lot of cooking and a lot of knowledge in his head. His eclectic style fits very well with the philosophy of Boho Club.
Boho Club’s menu offers a varied proposal in which the diner will find appetising dishes such as the prawn croquettes and its tartar, lobster gyozas with oiled lobster, fish from the market with cavatelli and pickle butter and seaweed, as well as a large selection ofgrilled meats with a choice of sauces and a varied choice of accompaniments.
Boho Club also has a wellness resort, where guests have access to landscaped gardens, a poolside restaurant, a state-of-the-art gym and more. The first thing you encounter upon arrival is the restaurant building, which shares space with the hotel’s reception. Guests are welcomed, then receive quick and comfortable check-in, accompanied by a complimentary juice.
The Boho Club Marbella has 20 rooms (Boho Garden and Boho Superior), a Boho Suite and nine comfortable bungalow suites.
There are swimming pools, one of them with an informal poolside restaurant, the Bernies.
In the wellness area, you’ll find a gym, yoga and meditation sessions, as well as a massage and a comprehensive treatment service to find the balance between body and mind.
