The Noël Ribes Collection in Vicente Gracia’s studio, during the month of June”.
Here are some of the pieces that you can find, although this is just a sample, come to the exhibition to enjoy this magnificent artistic experience, we are waiting for you!
Paterna or Manises, XIV-XV century Hispano-Arab bowl with geometric decoration.
This decorative series corresponds to productions between the end of the XIV century and the beginning of the XV century. It should be noted that the ceramics in this series come almost entirely from old excavations (especially from old kilns) and that consequently, the examples existing today have much more extensive restorations than this bowl.
Spain or Italy, 16th-17th century
This elegant gilt bronze applique probably from an important piece of furniture or cabinet, representing an Atlantean, whose left-hand holds the cloth at his waist and the right hand supports a vegetal cornice on his head.
Teruel, 14th-15th century Hispano-Arabic
Interesting and rare star-shaped tile with green enamelled decoration.
This type of format in green tone was specifically characteristic of Teruel. These tiles were used in large architectural compositions to decorate facades and the main walls of the important churches of the Kingdom of Aragon, such as the Cathedral of Zaragoza.
Central-Europe, 17th century
Exceptional baroque Christ in carved ivory, preserving its original polychrome on the head and in excellent condition. In addition to its strength of feeling, this sculpture stands out for its high anatomical precision, demonstrating an extraordinary virtuosity in aspects such as the cloth of purity, facial features or details of the feet.
Augsburg, 16th century
This exceptional sculpture, whose body is delicately incised over its entire surface, still retains Gothic reminiscences in the hieratic posture of the lion and in its strict symmetry.
Representations of animals are very common at this time. The lion theme often appears in bronze as a decorative applique on furniture and objects, as an iconographic element accompanying, for example, Hercules, Saint Mark or Saint Jerome.
France, 14th century
This small fragmentary sculpture from the Gothic period with a calm expression and sweet gaze perfectly embodies the serene and balanced spirit so characteristic of the cradle of the first French Gothic. It appears published in the catalogue of the prestigious Julius Böhler gallery, published in 1988, which dates it to around 1380.
As you can see these pieces of art together with the exclusive jewellery of Vicente Gracia form a perfect tandem that is sure to be a success. At Spain Life we highly recommend you go along and visit them because it is well worth a visit.
