Magnificent View and Mouthwatering Menu at Saga Moraira

Tantalising flavours in a stunning atmosphere – that’s how I remember my most recent visit to Saga Moraira, located in one of the most picturesque coastal towns of Spain, 80 kilometres north of Alicante. Whether you are looking for a place to dine with a magnificent view, an intimate space for a romantic dinner, or want to spend the evening with your family & friends, grilling freshly caught seafood, this restaurant is the place to be.

As we raised our glasses as the sun set on another magical day at Moraira, this restaurant’s perfect lighting and the soft music playing in the background amped up the space into a more intimate ambience.

We didn’t feel the chilly wind of winter thanks to all the mobile heaters placed in the outdoor dining area. Hence we opt to dine outside overlooking the Mediterranean ocean. The staff at Saga Moraira provides a first-class experience to every customer from the moment they enter, and they serve every dish with professionalism and passion that is sure to exceed your expectations.

 

Starters

We started off with some delicious and warm focaccia bread with olive oil – the bread was tender & full of flavour. My wife Karen ordered a passion-fruit agua chile, which was served with prawns, scallops, and a special sauce, and I definitely had to try it to confirm it tastes as good as it looks.

Then we tried the teriyaki beef sweetbread with Yucca del a vera chips – this was absolutely delicious and the flavours blended so well overall.

Main courses

We were served a lovely dish of grilled sea bass along with vegetables that were beautifully presented. The texture was quite soft and the vegetables complimented the dish to create a pleasant taste.

As Saga has two or three speciality meat dishes, I decided to try the sirloin beef, which was dry-aged and comes with Foie gras port sauce and Domino potato. My goodness, this was a dish worth having & probably the highlight meal of the evening! It was tender and stunning in its presentation and overall with the port sauce just a delight to savour.

Saga Moraira has already gained quite a popularity among locals & tourists alike for its exquisite Mediterranean cuisine with a hint of South-American flavours. While you may pay slightly more than some other restaurants for the menu, I can safely say that the whole dining experience here is worth every euro.

Pro tip: We highly recommend you dine at night here as we all love our Mediterranean evenings with fantastic views accompanied by music tailored to a magical evening.

To end our tasteful night on a sweet note, we ordered the Naranta En Flor and Pina Malibu (kudos to the chef who came up with these creative names!). These were orange-blossomed flavoured creams with candied origins in a cinnamon crunch & glazed pineapple with coconut foam. It looked like art on a plate with a mouthwatering combination of flavours.

To sum up, this was a fresh dining experience in a picture-perfect setting, quite similar to the feeling you get when you dine at a Beverly Hills restaurant in LA – you feel good, and you definitely want to go back.
