When you have been very fortunate to enjoy living in Costa Blanca over a number of years it becomes important not to forget not only how beautiful the coastline is but also what is set amongst it and one of the underlying delights, I was very lucky to come across back in 2005 was the wonderful LE DAUPHIN restaurant that is not only set in the excellent location of El Portet in Moraira but also is most likely to be the best environment you have ever had the grace to have lunch or dinner in.

 

 

Therefore, today we are going to introduce you to one of the most beautiful restaurants you will hopefully have the pleasure to dine in …Its location is not just breathtaking but they use all of their design of tables and greenery to make it just perfect in its splendor … it is considered by anyone who has been there to be one of the best in Spain. You will see that in the photography here in this feature however what we are going to talk about in this article is also the most important thing which is the outstanding quality of the food they offer and the exceptional service they have been providing for almost 30 years.

 

 

Because in the end, what is a restaurant with some of the most amazing views without a delicious menu to taste and enjoy?

 

 

 

The Restaurant Le Dauphin is located in the bay of El Portet Moraira directly on the beach. The finca was been built  29 years ago with lovely natural stones and all the wood came from monasteries in Toledo.

 

The interior decoration has been designed in such a way that you feel in a totally Provencal Mediterranean atmosphere with a spectacular view over the whole bay of Moraira, Calpe, and in the background the colossal Peñon de Ifach.

 

Its unique setting gives it a friendly feel while the uniquely spectacular view of the bay and the Peñón de Ifach in Calpe give it a warm and cozy atmosphere especially in the evening when the lighting creates a superb ambiance.

Once seated, you can enjoy a table laid with the finest Bertrand Paris silver cutlery and elegant glasses of pure crystal while enjoying the impressive Mediterranean sea views that makes it a magical place to be.

 

 

 

The Restaurant Le Dauphin also features a permanent exhibition of bronze sculptures and antique lithographs from the 19th century.

 

 

The setting is wonderful but the food is even better and the creative French-style menu has some of the most elaborate dishes of Bay fish prepared with olive oil and fresh herbs, special meats such as their tenderloin Rossini Australia and a crown of lamb.

 

The quality of the food is remarkable as soon as it is served, as the owner Bert Wets always uses the freshest ingredients and a careful selection of them to make their dishes an unforgettable culinary experience.

 

Their cuisine is Mediterranean with the use of daily fresh products. All their fish are fresh and not cultivated wild fish, their meat is all national meat coming mostly from Galicia like the famous “Rubia Gallega” one of the world´s best meats.

 

 

 

All their dishes are homemade from the appetizers using homemade bread with sourdough, sweets, and chocolates with the coffee. Every 3 months the complete menú is changed to use the most seasonal ingredients.

 

Mi-cuit of Silver Duck are some of their signature dishes with the Spanish membrillo marmalade and textures of crumble and raspberries, they also have their Oxtail consomme recipe unchanged from 28 years serving it always with different flavors like lemon Grass, lemon leaves, and little truffle meatballs.

 

As fish, they have their by line-caught seabass with a carnaroli risotto with green asparagus and a white wine Sauvignon sauce. For the meat, as we mentioned above, they have their classical Filet of Beef ”Rubio gallega” Rossini with Madeira sauce and truffle.

 

At Le Dauphin, you can always find dishes such scallops, prawns, their home marinated salmon mojito, some cold soups in the summer like lobster and Iberico pork.

 

 

Any of these dishes you can always accompany with a very extensive wine and beer list where you can find more than 120 references.

 

For a sweet end, one of their most demanding sweets is their chilled Italian sabayón with hot cherries and vanilla ice cream.

 

 

 

 

This restaurant is a real treat for anyone who wishes to dine in style and enjoy one of the best menus you will find anywhere in the Costa Blanca and without doubt, it is the experience-knowledge- and enthusiasm that Bert has never stopped having that has made this restaurant such a delight and it has one of the most romantic sunsets you have probably ever see and if you want to taste the best then LE DAUPHIN is a must-visit today.
