La Perla Javea: Our Favourite Dishes this Summer

Looking for a seafood restaurant in Costa Blanca that is the real deal? Then we recommend this delightful venue in Javea with stunning beach views and friendly wait staff to top it off. 

 

A family-run business, La Perla Javea opened first opened its doors in 1984 out of its love and passion for simple seafood cooked to perfection on the grill. Throughout the Javea area, the restaurant has earned a well-deserved reputation for its specialty rice dishes of paellas and fideuàs.

Strategically located in the middle of Arenal beach, the family has dedicated itself to delivering wholesome homemade food made only of the freshest local produce, run by manager Vicky, and Sonia and Sergio in the kitchen, children of the founders of La Perla, Antonio and Loli. On its terrace, you’ll be able to enjoy a traditional Mediterranean-style meal with views of the ocean in the background. 

In addition to its irresistible food, the restaurant has an impressive wine cellar that presides over the dining room. With over 125 wine references, the staff can give its expert opinion on what is the perfect pairing for your meal.

In La Perla Javea, the cuisine is based on fresh produce from the sea and local gardens. To make sure that the product is of the highest quality possible, the staff visits the fish market of Jávea to nourish its kitchen with the best ingredients for our guests. The team cooks with a passion to prepare the best dishes of Mediterranean cuisine, and are specialists in paellas, rice dishes and fideuàs.

To take on the sweltering heat that this summer has brought, the restaurant also does fresh and refreshing salads. Its La Perla salad has lettuce, tomato, onion, hard-boiled egg, tuna, full of vibrant colour and flavour, finding quality even in the simplest of dishes. 

Another favourite of ours as of late is its red tuna tartar, with leek and potato. The recipe originates from Basque tradition, and La Perla has put its own Mediterranean spin on it thanks to the local produce of Javea. 

Another speciality straight from garden to table are the anchovies in oil with fresh red onion from the garden. 

From its rice dishes, we particularly recommend the scintillating black rice paella in squid ink, bursting with that authentic sea flavour that we love so much. La Perla cooks it to perfection with cuttlefish from Javea’s local fish market, topped off with aioli.
