La Falua, established in 2007, is a modern restaurant in a traditional Spanish town. This is without doubt an absolute favourite of ours here at Spain Life Exclusive. With a striking interior, a relaxed atmosphere and food to die for, this is a restaurant you must visit when you’re in Benidorm.
La Falua Food
The food at La Falua is a combination of fresh Mediterranean and modern international, with a choice of modern and innovative dishes or more traditional Spanish classics. Head chef Maria Theresa Karrasko wants you to open your mind to a brand new world of taste sensations, created by her and her innovative team in the kitchens of La Falua. You can even ‘create your own recipe’ using ingredients of your choice, a refreshing idea if the menu items don’t take your fancy!
Take your pick from hot and cold starters including Cured Bluefin Tuna or Lemon Cockles. Salads and mains are spectacular with choices such as Lobster Salad, Pickled Partridge, Paellas cooked to order, fresh, local seafood from Denia and 12 year old beef cutlet. Don’t even get me started on the desserts. La Falua also have a range of set menus, there is a choice of three with various options, some with drinks included and some without. For example you can devour some Grilled Potera Squid as your starter, move on to Tuna Tataki, enjoy a wonderful glass of Rioja or Ribera, and finish your meal with a refreshing lemon sorbet, or a decadent three chocolate tier. Is your mouth watering yet?
La Falua Spaces
Of course La Falua isn’t just a world-class restaurant, it also has a drinks lounge, La Falua Lounge by Moet & Chandon. This newly opened lounge serves a wide range of cocktails, delicious spirits, beers and a wonderful range of the very best of Spanish wines. You can order food in this chilled-out section of the restaurant too. They have raciones (small plates) on offer as well as canapes, all made to order at any time from 4pm, the kitchen never closes until the restaurant does, so if you get a little peckish in between cocktails it’s the perfect place to be.
As you wander in to La Falua, you will be able to admire the spacious outdoor terrace, with retractable cover for all weathers. Then as you enter, the reception and bar area is reminiscent of a boutique hotel with comfy sofas for waiting for your table and stylish decor. The restaurant itself is bright and airy, all the better for social distancing of course, and there are stunning pieces of art on every wall. Take the stairs, or the lift, to the drinking lounge and you enter into a whole new atmosphere with blue-lit indoor and outdoor areas filled with comfy seating for you to while away the rest of your evening. Look out for our next feature to find out more about this.
