Having won the hearts of many with her stunning fused-glass artworks, it’s no wonder why Isabelle Scheltjens is making waves throughout the art world despite rises in prices.
Known as a queen of the Belgian art world, Isabelle Scheltjens has continued to gain traction despite inflation affecting all major industries. In Spain, there’s a planned 7% increase across all prices for this coming September. Fortunately for Isabelle, she’s currently gaining more and more visibility, and is showing no signs of slowing down.
Isabelle achieves amazing optical effects with her technique: she captures the dance of light and colour in a way that transforms a photograph into a black and white portrait or, sometimes, a colourful one, the fascinating result of a process that relies on the perceptual capacity of the viewer’s eye and mind.
As a highly innovative artist, Isabelle applies pointillism in a totally modern way in terms of colour, material and technique in her own divine process. She is currently exhibiting her work all over the world, in locations such as – amongst others – the following in 2020 alone:
- Canfin Gallery, New York – USA
- Opera Gallery, Dubai – Emirates
- The Boutique Gallery, Cape Town-Franschhoek – South Afrika
- Galerie Paul Janssen, Saint-Tropez – France
- Oxholm Gallery, Copenhagen – Denmark
- Gallery Van Dun, Oisterwijk – The Netherlands
- The Boutique Gallery, Sint-Martens-Latem & Knokke – Belgium
- Belair Gallery, Gstaad – Switzerland
- Belair Gallery, Venice – Italy
- Opera Gallery, Hong Kong
- Okker Gallery, Amsterdam – The Netherlands
- Galerie Bartoux, Honfleur – France
- BelAirFineArt – Genève – Switzerland
However, her most exciting artistic and creative adventure yet was opening BLIZZ ART GALLERY – her own personal art gallery in Puerto Banus (Marbella). The unique space opened its doors in June 2021, and Isabelle is proud and happy to embark on this new and challenging experience.
Exhibition at BLIZZ ART GALLERY
She currently has an exhibition taking place of her most recent works, in her Marbella studio, Blizz Art Gallery in Puerto Banus.
With the belief that the face is the most expressive part of the human being, Isabelle accurately captures the glance of emotion in her portraits.
Isabelle creates her glass murals by taking pieces of coloured glass and creating puzzles with them, on a plastic panel. A piece often consists of several layers, which are fused together by means of glass fusion. The imposing format makes the powerful, colourful portrait even more expressive.
Having originally started out as a beautician, Isabelle clearly has an innate eye for beauty and for the way colours hit off certain lights. Located in the exclusive area of Puerto Banus, Blizz Art Gallery welcomes visitors to step in and marvel at the permanent exhibition of Scheltjens dotted glass artwork.
