Then there is only one place to go as we recently introduced you to El Carnicero Loco in Altea as a new concept for lovers of good-tasting barbecued and grilled meat plus a varied menu of tapas and other delicacies and this is a unique restaurant in the area of Altea with a very special decoration and above all, you can enjoy premium meats of the highest quality such as grilled meats on charcoal such as Entrecote, Solomillo, Rib-eye, Tomahawk, and much more.
Recently the Spain Life team had the pleasure of having a lovely dinner for two on their cozy roof terrace with a lovely atmosphere of diners also enjoying their food and drinks.
The rooftop we dined on is a truly charming setting in a cozy ambiance overlooking the square in Altea with breathtaking views of the town and out to sea. So if you add delicious food to this lovely place then the result is simply perfect.
So let us start by mentioning that this restaurant is very different in the best sense of the term since from the outside you cannot imagine how wonderfully designed the interior is on each floor, from the excellent furniture it has in situ and how spacious it is inside plus how many nice intricate corners it has to make a superb dining experience in this magnificent restaurant.
Distributed into three floors the ground floor is where you can have informal dinners like tapas whereas on the first floor with two beautifully decorated rooms you can have a more intimate dinner and then to the third floor which is the fantastic rooftop that we have shown you above.
Now that we have given you a small preview of what you can find at El Carnicero Loco we are going to show you some of the delectable dishes we were lucky enough to try.
We started by ordering starters and in this case, as we had it on good authority that they cook their fish to perfection so we opted for their famous Home-smoked Salmon which was substantial and had a lovely taste and was nicely presented on black slate plates.
The second starter was s deliciously and distinguishably smoked chicken tacos as they are served in a curry sauce with a nice mild spice.
As for the main course we decided to try the Entrecote steak served medium well and it tasted delicious as it was cooked soft and tender, very delicate and easy to digest.
We also opted for their popular “Lamb Chops”, a huge dish of six larger lamb chops perfectly cooked in charcoal.
Both dishes were superb as they had been sprinkled with a delicate taste of herbs and garlic which gave the meat a unique flavour and they were served with fries and salad. A fantastic option for any meat lovers who want the very best.
The service at Carnicero Loco is also excellent with lovely helpful waiters and waitresses and the time waiting for each course was correct, very quick and precise with a smile.
Overall we had a lovely meal in one of the best settings you will ever have in the Costa Blanca and we highly recommend this great restaurant since it is perfect for dinner or to enjoy fabulous cocktails in its “wow” rooftop that offers a magnificent view over the bay of Altea and Calpe.
