Elian’s International School of La Nucía will be hosting a Science Week starting by 30^th May, a super week of fun as children are bringing in and presenting their science experiments to their class.

Children love Science Weeks and Science Days when the regular timetable is relaxed and every lesson is their favourite one – science!

So this week will be represented in and outside the classroom with a series of activities and events to help promote the benefits of scientific involvement as well as providing some benefits not only for kids such as the following:

• A Science Week is an excellent CPD for teachers as it is an opportunity for them to explore new strategies for teaching and learning science in their own classrooms as well as work with experts from other sectors.
• A Science Week gives a school-wide profile to Science and raises interest and enthusiasm not just in children but also in staff, governors, and parents.

The Competition at Elian’s

Elian’s will be running a competition to find the best experiment. Teachers have explained to their class that they need to look at home for a science experiment they would like to do and to practise, so they can confidently present it to their class like the super scientists they are.

The last day for kids to bring in their science experiments will be Friday 3^rd June.
Years 4 to 6 will also have an opportunity to visit Elian’s secondary school for a science lesson in their new laboratories.

Science Fair

In addition to the competition, Elian’s will be also holding their Science Fair on Wednesday 1^st June. This will be a day of encouraging wonder and discovery as each class will have the opportunity to come along and explore different year groups and experiments at their science stalls.

With a variety of science activities to explore, there will be lots of science mania generated on the day!

Parents are warmly encouraged to attend their Science Fair. The fair will be held on their outdoor pitches.
