Elian’s British School at la Nucía is the school that prepares its students for full English proficiency while nourishing the self-confidence and personal talents of each of its students.
One of the main goals of the school is to achieve excellence in English which was attained
these last days with the results of the Cambridge tests. This is a necessary skill that will
allow the students to be able to communicate effectively in international environments.
Around 45% of the pupils have an international profile making English a key aspect of their
global vision.
This year, Elian school set a record on the number of students who got an English
certification of the C2 level, 13 teenagers got certified after careful preparation in the
school’s English program. This is an outstanding achievement as many native English
speakers still do not attain this level of language.
The biggest accomplishment was awarded to the thirteen-year-old David Pagan, who is one
of the youngest people ever to gain the demanding C2 level in English in the
world-renowned Cambridge English examinations. David believes he has attained this in
part because of his love for reading in English. He is a frequent visitor of the school library
and has been able to expand his knowledge of the English language through the school
courses and his habits.
Indisputably Elian’s teaching style and the education they provide have resulted in great
success. The school focuses on providing high-quality education to prepare its students for a bright future ahead. Their approach to teaching English from a young age has allowed their students to thrive in their tests. Additionally, the support they receive from their dedicated teachers and staff has allowed them to feel assisted throughout the process and stay motivated to do their best.
Joakim Philipsen, the head of secondary school has stated that “This year, no fewer than
thirty of our students were awarded either C1 or C2 in the Cambridge English examinations. This success comes in the same year as a fantastic set of results in the IGCSE English Literature examinations, in which 95% of students who took the exam achieved the very highest A-A* equivalent grades. That’s even more extraordinary when you realize only two of those 37 students have English as their first language.”
Undoubtedly, Elian’s educational system is a great asset for Costa Blanca as it continues to
allow children and teenagers to develop to the best of their capacity and therefore creating a better community. At UK Spain Life we congratulate all of the students and their wins as we are sure they will continue to succeed in the next chapters of their lives.
