Celebrating 10 years of Agua de Mar, the restaurant offering marvelous views over the docks of Marina de Dénia intends to make this Christmas even more special.
Cristina Baixauli and Victor Gallego, from València and Dénia, both of them self-taught in the domain of hospitality, opened in 2005 a restaurant that, in 2007, became Agua de Mar. They included, in their menu, dishes with the freshest fish and seafood of the day. And they also take pride in their way of cooking atypical rice dishes. Cristina briefly explains the atypical touch:
“Faithful to the traditional cuisine, the rice dishes will always have something seductive and will be equally round: arroz a banda (typically Valencian rice, cooked in fish stock), arroz al horno (also typical Valencian rice, this one cooked in the oven)… Still, the traditional rice dishes are not alone, anymore! There are other vanguard dishes, more stimulating still equally seductive, and equally round.” This atypical turn of classical recipes conquered, over the years, the customers’ hearts, this being an incentive for Cristina and Victor to go even further and open, until the end of this year, another venue, in the centre of the city of Dénia.
At Agua de Mar, on the docks of Marina de Dénia, the Christmas menu will include several of the star dishes of the restaurant, among which – their homemade red shrimp croquettes, the smoked octopus, the lobster rice (served, upon request, juicy or dry) or the marinated red tuna tataki with teriyaki, mango and lemon confit. Their special Christmas menu is accompanied by an also special selection of wines, from the famous region of La Rioja, and Cava – from the pioneering and acclaimed terroir of València.
