A spring-like February goes away and a colder March arrives

This February has been one of the warmest in recent years. In spite of the wind gusts of the first week and of some days of cloudy skies, in general the temperatures have been pleasant. However, it seems that the advance of spring is over for the time being. March arrives this weekend with lower temperatures.

The sunny skies will continue to be the protagonists of this week. The masses of cold air will skim the north of the Iberian Peninsula by Wednesday, but there will be stable weather in a large part of Spain. Temperatures will remain above 15ºC, reaching 20ºC in some provinces and even at 25ºC in the Canary Islands. On the other hand, at the beginning of the week the Levante wind will hit the coasts of Andalusia, Ceuta and Melilla, especially in the Cadiz area. Likewise, frosts will also be scarce.

Looking ahead to the weekend, temperatures are expected to fall again. This is due to the storm that is approaching the northwest of the peninsula. It seems that March will come with a cooler weather and perhaps the rains that are sorely needed in Spain.
