First opened in 1991 by Dr Graham Young, The Colina Club was born with a vision to accommodate those looking to retire in a warmer climate. As he had previously been involved with care homes in England, he brought ample experience to The Colina Club, which enabled him to together a group of multinational investors to build the village.
Initially, it was intended to serve the Northern European ex-pat community, providing a safe, secure, and tranquil environment in a beautiful location in Costa Blanca. Serving those of retirement age in the Northern European Expat senior community since 1991 by providing a comfortable, secure, peaceful, healthy, and caring facility in a superb location.
The care team at the Residence are medical professionals who provide continuous care and who, together with the rest of the professionals, work in a coordinated, organised and communicated manner to meet the day-to-day needs of each user of the centre.
There are trained and qualified staff members on duty 24/7. There are many staff members that assist the residents with the day to day assistance are made up of nursing auxiliaries. The residence also has a physiotherapist, psychologist and social worker available.
Independent Living Apartments
There are a total of 48 apartments in the retirement village, where neighbours and staff alike care for each other in a close-knit community. The apartments provide either one or two bedrooms in five two-storey complexes, which are set around the swimming pool and bowling green.
To ensure the utmost safety, the apartments have help alarms that are monitored 24/7 in the Residence. So if the resident has an emergency, help is readily available. The apartment nurse conducts welfare checks by visiting all single residents up to three times a week. This is so that if a resident has an issue and they cant physically reach their alarm, the team will be able to find out.
The apartments offer stunning sea views and are designed so that both the ground floors and first floors have level access with just one small step. The parking area is directly outside to ensure that access is effortless.
The village is made up of an English speaking community, so it’s an idyllic environment to come and enjoy the blessed Spanish weather.
Rental Apartments
The apartments on site are available for long and short term stays, and they have terraces so that residents can enjoy the views over the countryside out towards the Mediterranean Sea and the famous Ifach de Penón nature reserve.
The terraces are closed off on some of the upper apartments, so make sure to inquire if you have any specific preferences. It’s an ideal spot to have dinner while taking in the sunset. The living area comes with a Freeview box with various English channels already installed on them.
The kitchens come with an electric hob and oven along with a fridge freezer. The apartments feature one or two bedrooms, while the front bedroom looks out on the same panoramic view that you have from the terrace.
It’s possible to remodel the bathroom to suit the needs of the residents, which come with a bath/shower, sit down bath/shower, small to large shower units and walk-in showers.
