If you haven’t already visited Menorca, it is a destination you will not want to miss. Its crystalline water, virgin nature, and even its amazing history will make you fall in love with the place. Even though Menorca isn’t as famous as Mallorca, it still has so much to offer. Take a look at these beaches and see for yourself!
Here are the three best coves you have to visit if you pay this beautiful island a visit!
- Cala Turqueta: just as the name describes the water is a beautiful turquoise. Surrounded by cliffs and pine trees the landscape is breathtaking. It is one of the most popular ‘calas’ in the area so we recommend visiting early in the morning to get a spot.
2. Cala Mitjana: one of Menorca’s most beautiful natural beaches. Just like Cala Turqueta it is surrounded by cliffs. If you are traveling in a car you can find parking spots just a few minute’s walk away from the beach. The beach has white fine sand, making it a lovely spot to enjoy some sunbathing. We recommend getting there early since this beach catches the shadow a bit earlier than the rest. Nonetheless, it’s still a must.
3. Cala Pregonda: is probably one of the most famous beaches in Menorca. It is different from the rest because of the reddish color of its sand. You will have to walk about 35 minutes to get there but we can promise the views will make it all worth it. It is also the perfect place for snorkeling since you can find a variety of colorful small fishes.
Just as the pictures demonstrate this is a beautiful island destination to visit this summer. It has over 120 beaches and gets 12 hours of daylight in summer. So if you love the beach, beautiful sunsets, and an amazing atmosphere, Menorca is the place for you.
