One of the main features that set apart the British Schools Alzira, Xàtiva and Gandia is their family-run management. Furthermore, the family has a long history in education, and in the following we are going to unfold a part of this history.
The Management of the British Schools Group has always been led by the Corbí-Ramón family, nationally renown for their extensive experience in the education sector. The Group was founded by Guillermo Corbí, with over 40 years’ experience in school management, together with his wife, Doña Amparo Ramón Martínez, who run the school for 20 years, along with her son, Franc Corbí Ramón, the actual director.
The entire family has been actively implied into all aspects of the three British Schools that opened in 1997 (Alzira), 2009 (Xàtiva) and 2015 respectively (Gandia). While speaking with them about our article, one important detail, even if very personal, came up. The founders’ grandchildren, all six of them, are learning at the British School, and we believe that this aspect makes a powerful statement on the values of the school and of the educational project as core family values.
The actual director of the British School Alzira, Xàtiva and Gandia Group, Franc Corbí Ramón, has a degree in Law and a Master’s Degree in Management and Management of educational centers, and has directed for 20 years with his family the three British School centers Alzira, Xàtiva and Gandia. He has been a member of the National Board of Directors of the National Association of British Schools of Spain (NABSS) for over 10 years. He is member of the National Board and of the National Executive of ACADE, the most important Spanish association of private schools, also acting as regional vice president. Regarding his views on schooling system, he says that
“Our vision of how a good education should be is clear: innovation with tradition, personalization and an environment where the student is safe, fun, motivated and special.”
Also, Franc Corbí Ramón is a visiting professor at International University of Valencia, organizer of educational masters for the University Alfonso X El Sabio, and sponsor of the infant and primary education of the students of the Cardenal Herrera CEU University of Valencia. Regular speaker in national and international educational events, co-creator of the School of Parents with Talent, organizer of prestigious educational congresses and director of the Shakespeare Awards, prestigious prizes awarded to the education sector. To all this we add his usual participation in all education-related media, including the permanent television programme of School of Parents with Talent.
Franc Corbí Ramón also participates and collaborates in legislative initiatives of education, such as the representation of the British schools in Spain in the regulations for access to the University of British Schools. And he is also part of the committee of experts in private education in the White Paper on Education. Overall, today Franc Corbí Ramón is seen as one of the most relevant people in the world of education on the national scene due to his great and varied involvement in the education sector.
“We must all walk towards change and be willing to adapt and leave the comfort zone to provide our students with the education they deserve to enjoy it first and to serve a future work that is still far from what it is being offered so that our people are competitive and can opt, at least, to what they want if they deserve it. That is not for us.”
This paragraph from the recently published article Change of time and time of change of Franc Corbí, where he states his vision of tomorrow, also expresses the active attitude of the British Schools family-run management in adapting to new technologies and to the changes they bring along in our daily life, while always maintaining the core values of the excellent educational model of the British curriculum, that is the basis of their educational project.
British School Alzira Group constantly prove themselves to be one of the most successful models of education, and here at Spain Life exclusive we inform our readers on weekly basis on the philosophy and core values of the Group, and on their educative project, the facilities of the schools and the latest events.
